Adelaide-Pt Lincoln flights reality cutRegional Express (REX) says cuts on the Port Lincoln-Adelaide way in South Australia are a disappointing result of competition.

The airline bequeath offer 38,000 fewer seats annually or 18 per cent of its volume.

It has been facing competition from the return of QantasLink services.

Warwick Lodge from REX says flights volition be dropped from August 23.

“Quite a disappointing turn of events – we’ve worked extremely intricate over the last seven years to gradually build up the carriage service that we provide between Port Lincoln and Adelaide,” he declared.

“Obviously a lot of people welcome competition but I guess all I can say is that you know there are disadvantages from competition considered in the state of well.

“We’re losing that convenience of having frequency of flights disseminate throughout the day. I guess we are now reverting back to manner of less choice.”

Port Lincoln mayor Peter Davis says it shows rivalry is not always of benefit.

“I told the community, I dress in’t know – 3, 4 months ago – we’ve got to watch up as a community that airlines cannot discount too far,” he afore~.

QantasLink says it is happy with demand on the route and exercise volition continue its current schedule.
